My name is Molly and I am a stay-at-home mother of two young children. I have been a vegetarian for several years, and since I don't eat meat I also do not want to use soap or skin care products made with animal fat. This is why I started to make my own soap. I can be assured of using high quality vegetarian soaps on myself and my family. We love our homemade soaps; they are moisturizing, long lasting, smell great, and have a rich lather. Though many areas of the cosmetics industry are bound by ingredient disclosure laws, an exception permits soap manufacturers to reveal only what they want to reveal about their soaps. Even so, many manufacturers list on their packaging animal fat, preservatives, petroleum products, and synthetic colors and fragrances.
I use only high quality vegetable oils in my soaps; colors are derived from the natural oils, ground spices or clay. There are no artificial preservatives or synthetic fragrances in any of our products. Lard and tallow are known to clog pores. Synthetic colors, fragrances, and preservatives are more likely to cause allergic reactions in individuals with sensitive skin than are pure essential oils and all natural colors. Using a petroleum product to make a soap actually creates a detergent.
