David Dooks, BBA director of statistics, said: After March's stronger figures, mortgage lending fell back in April to around the recent average and, although credit card lending was stronger, that has to be viewed against the rare net repayment seen in March.
A new working party has been established to lead the smooth implementation in the UK of harmonised, pan-European corporate-action standards, as part of the Giovannini Group initiatives to remove the barriers preventing the development of an efficient and cost-effective clearing and settlement infrastructure in Europe for securities transactions.
