History
The Boston Chinese Bible Study Group 波士頓華人查經班 was born in 1959. It is the oldest Chinese Bible study group in Boston, possibly also the oldest in North America. The Group antedates most Chinese churches in the Greater Boston area. Indeed, the well-known Chinese Bible Church of Greater Boston 波士頓郊區華人聖經教會 in Lexington is an outgrowth of the
麻省理工學院 met regularly for Bible study. It soon attracted many students, both within the MIT community and without. As the Group grew, we could no longer meet at MIT because many members were not affiliated with MIT. Thus we sought another place where we could meet freely. We met at the First Baptist Church in Central Square for a brief period of time. Because that church building is huge, heating was quite a problem for us. Therefore, in the early 1970's we moved to the Cambridge Church of the Nazarene where we have been meeting ever since.
