Bear Essentials Lodge is a rustic lodge located in Anchor Point, Alaska. We are in a remote location surrounded by the beauty of Alaska views, scenery, and wildlife.
Our Alaskan Lodging is located minutes away from fishing, hunting, clamming, sightseeing, hiking, wildlife photography, and many other Alaskan adventures and activities that Alaska is famous for. We offer clean comfortable rooms at very reasonable rates. Our rates vary by season, duration of stay, and the number of guests. Stay one night, several nights, or longer. Extended stay discounts apply. Bear Essentials Lodging is open year round.
We also are a small Alaskan owned log furniture company and work closely with our customers to make unique custom log furniture and accessories. Should the warmth and enduring characteristics of log furniture fit with your lifestyle or decor, check out our design and construction.
All log furniture and carvings are Hand crafted in Alaska by Alaskans. We are located at mile post 149.5 on the Sterling Highway 1.
Turn left on Tall Tree Road. Go down Tall Tree Road 2.5 miles to Chestes Street and turn right. Go up the hill a quarter mile to the lodge, which is on the left.
We have a wonderful rustic log cabin style lodge. The lodge has 2 fully furnished bedrooms that will sleep four, a bathroom with a corner shower, and a large sunroom over looking the Alaska Range mountains. It is a very serene setting. Heating is available if you get chilly. Also on site you will find winding adventurous trails.
As the construction progresses, there will be a laundry room and showers, 4 small cabins, RV parking spaces, and tent camping space which will offer the same seclusion as our cabins.

Lodging: The main lodge has two large bedrooms. We have a new log building which has two rooms and a separate kitchen/dining area for our guests. All bedrooms have a private bathroom with shower and are furnished with log furniture made on site. Each room has a large sturdy rustic log beds which are sure to provide you with a good nights rest. In the summer months there is an outdoor cooking and picnic area. Feel free to use this area at any time during your stay. If you have children (ages 2 to 102) in your party be sure request a free *Smores* kit. We provide a TV/VCR at no extra charge.
We are only minutes away from Cook Inlet where the halibut are abundant and even closer to world renown salmon fishing streams and rivers. The Anchor River, Ninilchik River, and Deep Creek are just a few miles away. About an hour drive north runs the famous Kenai River where the worlds largest king salmon are caught.
Homer, Alaska - Halibut Capitol of the world, is just twenty-five minutes to the south. Halibut season starts late April to early May and runs through August. If its clam digging you like, there are great opportunities on the nearby beaches. Deep Creek, just up the road, and Clam Gulch, about twenty-five minutes north are some of the best anywhere.
