Bees are flying insects. They are closely related to wasps and ants. Bees are found on every continent except Antarctica. These insects have six jointed legs, a three-part body, a pair of antennae, two pair of wings, compound eyes, and a hard exoskeleton. Bees also have a long proboscis (tongue) which helps them gather nectar from flowers. There are about 20,000 bee species worldwide. Bumblebees and honeybees are the most common bee species.
