Description
West Wales is a wonderful place for bees. Here can be found mile after mile of unspoiled countryside, virtually free from intensive agriculture and its poisonous chemicals. From the heather covered Preseli Mountains, along whispering river valleys, to the wind-swept cliff tops of a rugged coastline.
From March through to September the bees gather nectar and pollen. Dandelion, Blackthorn and Gorse, are followed by Hawthorn, Sycamore and Horse Chestnut. The summer months see the bees foraging on Clover, Thistle, Blackberry and Willow herb and finally, as Autumn approaches, they seek out the wild Balsam growing along the river banks and the Heather that covers the many hills and mountains.
Hundreds of other wild plants are visited for their fragrant nectar and it is this unique combination that goes to produce one of the finest wildflower honeys in the world.
