Description
The Bergen Highlands/Ramsey Rotary Club was charted on June 18, 1952 and, ever since, has been helping Ramsey, Mahwah, Upper Saddle River, Saddle River and Allendale. The Club has approximately 45 members. Current officers include President Roy Polizzi, President Elect Michael Carrier, Vice President Jerry Crean, Secretary Jody Muti, Treasurer Jackye Smith and Sergeant-At-Arms Griffin Auld.
life-saving surgery at local hospitals. Children have come from Ukraine, Georgia (Russia), Poland, Jamaica, Nepal, Korea, the Phillipines and Iraq. Local families and club members host them and assist with transportation and other activities.
Raised in excess of $160,000 for the Capital Fund of the Center for Food Action. The Center for Food Action is a nonprofit "food pantry" for needy citizens of Northwest Bergen and Passaic Counties. The Capital Fund, with major support from the Saddle River Task Force, will provide a permanent home for the Center in Mahwah, thanks to the efforts of Rotarians, the Mahwah Township Council and the Mahwah Board of Education.
