The Berkshires is an exciting region to visit. Architecturally, the region is well known for its expansive cottages built by several leaders of industry during late 1800's. Its also a culturally rich area.

Artists, musicians and writers like Norman Rockwell, Edith Wharton, Herman Melville, Oliver Wendell Holms and John Singer Sergeant all lived in the Southern Berkshires and their homes are open to the public. First settled by the Dutch and the English in the late 1600's to early 1700's, the area contains many historic land marks to visit. Including the site of Shea's Rebellion.

There is summer stock theater where many of Broadway's best come to perform and the innovative dance and theater of Jacob's Pillow is world famous. The crowning jewel on the cultural scene is Tanglewood, summer home of the Boston Symphony. Tanglewood is a large performing arts center which, in addition to a full schedule of summer performances by the Boston Symphony, features pop and jazz concerts with artists like James Taylor, Mel Torme and the Boston Pops orchestra.
