Best Diet Tips is a website created by a woman named Carol Scheible that tells the story of how she personally overcame her bad eating habits. Apparently she was able to lose more than 100 pounds and then decided to share her story over the Internet, along with diet tips, recipes and reviews of other diet plans. We will look more closely at what this website has to offer those who are dieting and determine whether or not is worthy of spending time reading through the diet tips or trying any of the recipes.

REVIEW OF Best Diet Tips

As discussed, this is an informational resource for dieters and is meant to be a way to encourage people to try different diets and offer advice. It has not been created by a medical professional, but by an average woman who was able to meet her goal and wants to motivate others. The website shares the story of Carol Scheible and includes before and after photographs, offers her personal diet tips, discusses the importance of exercise and provides some low-carb recipes. Additionally, the site has links to diet calculators and a glycemic index. The link for “best diet tips” contains a list of fourteen tips that Carol apparently found useful while she was dieting, and probably adheres to in order to keep the weight off. Some of these tips are the same advice most dieters have heard before, such as “drink lots of water,” “eat only when you are hungry” and “do not eat after dinner.” This is good advice, though nothing new. Other tips could be useful as well, such as the suggestion to keep fresh vegetables cut and readily available for snacking, or to keep a food diary of everything you eat. Some of the tips are easier said than done, such as the warnings to not eat when you are stressed, to avoid refined sugars and carbohydrates, and to eat only in the kitchen, not in front of the computer or television. While this may be good advice in theory, a practical application could be difficult for dieters. Finally, we found some tips that we do not believe are particularly healthy. The first one is to “plan to be on a diet for the rest of your life.” While her point is that certain lifestyle changes should be made, the mindset of being on a diet could lead to feelings of deprivation. The last two we were also bothered by. One says “spit it out,” implying that sometimes a person might want to taste something without realizing the consequences, and should therefore spit it out before swallowing, and the last tip suggests taking a laxative to purge the system after a day of bingeing. This could lead to unhealthy behavior if done periodically.
