- In 1977, Leroy and Sharon Welborn bought a store on the corner of 38th and Peoria called Best Electric Company. Now, Leroy had been an electrical engineer in sales for over twenty years. So, he knew a great deal about electrical products. Best was a nice little electrical store. Actually, it was smaller than little... it was tiny. The lamp parts and "fix-it-up" shop was jam packed with light bulbs and wire, fuses and sockets, extension cords and switch plates. It was the kind of place you'd go to buy a three-way switch, a twenty-amp circuit breaker or have a new plug put on that old lamp of yours.
