The Girl Scout Council of Buffalo & Erie County, Inc. prepares girls and young women in Western New York to meet the emerging challenges of society and to provide leadership in resolving issues that may be prevalent in their environment.
With the values of diversity and inclusion, we carry out our commitment through the guidance of adult members who serve as role models of responsibility, character and citizenship, providing our girls and young women with skills to enable them to achieve their full potential as both individuals and contributing members of their community.
Led by a dedicated core of 5,590 adult volunteer members, 12,409 girls and young women (1,100 Troops in five levels) are registered in 2005-2006 Girl Scout Year. Our adult members provide a variety of quality, age-appropriate programs and opportunities for girls at the Troop, Service Unit and Council level. In addition, the Council’s 46 staff members, including individuals in grant-funded positions, provide operational support.
