Basic Health Project

The Government of Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina has secured a Credit from the International Development Association (IDA) to help finance the development of its health sector. The Credit supports the Basic Health Project (BHP).
The Basic Health Project is the third in a planned series of three operations in support of the Government's health sector recovery and development program. The objective of the Project is to support development of sustainable primary health care system, public health and disease control, and quality improvement.
The project will support the following: development of primary health care system based on cost-effective interventions; development of an environment that is supportive of family medicine and nursing practices; incentives and innovative techniques to increase productivity of health service managers, family doctors, nurses and allied professionals; rehabilitation and equipping of primary health facilities; development of regulations, institutions and competencies for accreditation and quality improvement; and policies and interventions for the prevention and control of non-communicable diseases, accidents and injuries.
