I graduated High School in 1984, and my folks bought me a used 1979 Kawasaki KZ400. The bike actually had two previous owners, and it was not in running condition.
My dad helped me get it running again, actually, he did most of the work. But once it was running, I learned how to ride it, and take care of it, and eventually got my motorcycle license in 1985. For the next three years, that bike was my only transportation, taking me to college, to my jobs, and taking me anywhere else I needed to go, rain, shine, hot, or cold.
Eventually I got a full time job, and having to ride out in the cold and rain wore me out. I bought a pick up truck, and stopped riding. Sixteen years later, my next-door neighbor got me worked up over motorcycles again, and I bought a 2004 Yamaha Road Star. Since then, I've come to love riding all over again.
