Bird Flu, also known as avian influenza or the H5N1 influenza virus is a disease that origionally only infects birds. This current type of the virus is highly contagious among birds and shows to be rapidly fatal. Since 1997 the first humans were infected by this virus in Hong Kong. Until March 22nd 2006 there have at least been more than 184 (official) reports of infected humans of which 103 humans died already.
