This membership of a global organisation provides enormous resources and support. Birdlife has partner organisations in every country in Europe (and worldwide), with experts working on issues of European importance such as Important Bird Areas, research and monitoring of important sites and species, policy and advocacy development.
BWI work with Birdlife's European office in Brussels on a wide range of issues of EU importance, such as implementation of the EU Birds and Habitats Directives, reform of the Common Agriculture and Common Fisheries Policies and pan-European monitoring and research.
About Birdwatch Ireland
BirdWatch Ireland is the leading voluntary conservation organisation in Ireland, devoted to the conservation and protection of Ireland's birds and their habitats. We are a registered charity (No. 5703) with more than 10,000 members and supporters and have 20 branches nationwide. BWI is funded by annual membership subscriptions, donations, grants and sponsorship.
