Description

Excerpted from the website description:

Bay Area Business Woman is a free, independently-owned and -operated newspaper serving San Francisco, Alameda, San Mateo, Marin, Contra Costa and Sonoma Counties. Founded in October 1993 by Anna Marks, the publication was sold to Debra Costner in July of 2007. From the beginning, our vision has been to assist in development of the Bay Area businesswomen's community through our print publication, website and face-to-face networking events. We endeavor to bring you news and information that is both compelling and beneficial in your quest for success. Bay Area Business Woman believes in commerce with a conscience and promotes an educational, social and political agenda to advance the status of women and girls. We feature success stories of women in business, who serve as inspiration for those struggling to advance their lives and careers. We believe that the power of women will continue to gather momentum as we become equal partners in all aspects of today's society. Throughout the year we work with many women's business groups and feature local women who are experts in their fields. Bay Area Business Woman is proud to sponsor many nonprofit and fundraising events each year, and be closely connected with our community. Each month we reach over 50,000 diversified, well-educated and active professional women and business owners. Our goal is to be your community newspaper. For women, the bottom line is about more than just showing a profit, it's about doing well while making a contribution. It's about using our economic success to create the world we want to live in — one that embraces diversity, is ecologically sensitive and socially conscious. That is the community in which we will all live and thrive.
