Black Smart is owned and managed by Sharyn Jeanne Skeeter. Sharyn has been an editor at Essence and Black Elegance magazines. She has taught African-American literature, journalism and media studies at universities. She is a published writer and poet. Some of her poems are published in In Search of Color Everywhere: A Collection of African-American Poetry (E. Ethelbert Miller, editor).
Black Smart is dedicated to Clarence Doyle Skeeter, Larry Doyle Skeeter, Jeanne Ryerson Skeeter and the Langstons, Ryersons and Skeeters who taught our family heritage.
