- Blauer started as little toboggan shack on Big Bear Lake in California way back in 1960. Since then, Steve and Jim Blauer have opened three stores and expanded from toboggans to include ski rentals, then snowboard rentals and now gear. Blauer developed a reputation for providing customers with the latest top-brand products available- and for doing it at affordable prices- so it was only natural that Steve and Jim tuned-in to customer demand and added retail to their ski and snowboard shop repertoire. A Blauer Ski and Board shop is the first store as you hit Running Springs on the mountain road from Los Angeles and the last store before you hit the slopes in the center of Big Bear Lake. The newly expanded store on the corner of Knight Avenue is located in the center of town and is the largest snowboard shop in Big Bear Lake. Now you can rent or buy everything you need to tame Snow Summit and Bear Mountain, from snowboard rentals to goggles, at a Blauer shop- they've even got a few toboggans still laying around out back.
