Bloody Bridge Backpackers : Where the Mountains of Mourne sweep down to the sea
Description edit
Excerpted from the website:
- The Bloody Bridge is located where the mountains of Mourne sweep down to the sea and is a popular access point to the high Mournes in County Down, Northern Ireland. It has two National Trust walks and there are plans to improve the coastal walks between Kilkeel and Newcastle and Kilkeel and Cranfield. The creation of a 'Mourne National Park' is under active consideration. If the ‘Mourne National Park’ is approved, it will be the first National Park in Northern Ireland. Currently there is no facilities for people to stay overnight, although from the 1930's to the 1960's there was a popular YHA at the Bloody Bridge.
