The South Florida Bone Marrow/Stem Cell Transplant Institute is a 4,000 sq. ft. facility located in Bethesda Health City, Boynton Beach, Florida.
To date, there are only a handful of completely outpatient bone marrow/stem cell transplant (BM/SCT) programs in the country. Most programs combine inpatient and outpatient care.
There are distinct advantages, however, to a totally outpatient approach. The greatest being the reduced risk of nosocomial infections. There has been a 36 percent increase in the rate of hospital-acquired infections over the past 20 years according to the Center for Disease Control.
