- It was a pity party. There's really no other term for it. Bob Souer was working at a radio station in the west suburbs of Chicago and he was feeling sorry for himself, big-time. You see, the boss had taken the entire staff of the station out to lunch. But, Bob, because he was "on the air," had to stay behind. The manager had even taken the receptionist, so along with running the controls for the station, he even had to answer the phone. Which, as it turned out, was rather providential.
