- The Book Bin is literally a success story still in the making. Opened in 1993 by a dedicated couple, the store was a going concern surviving competition and the ups and downs of the economy until their retirement in 1998. The store was purchased by a lady who ran the business until Dec 2000 when she decided on a career change and sold it to the present owners Mike Young and Carole McIntyre. The original location on Balsam Street in Timmins was getting too small for the growing business so in 2004 was moved to it's present location on 260 Third Ave with approx 2700 sq feet of space. Although the store has diversified over the years, the main focus is still books... 70% of the space houses 1000's of titles in alphabetical order to the last name of the author.
