Boutell.Com, Inc., is a privately-held small business in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. The company was formed when one partner was laid off from a firm that folded, and the other partner decided to take control of his own time, write a book, and expand his early World-Wide Web efforts into a full-time endeavor.
Dedicated to the ideas of "voluntary simplicity" and responsible environmentalism, Boutell.Com is a nearly paperless office which recycles as much as possible, re-uses many materials, and obtains much of its non-critical equipment from second-hand stores and yard sales. Most receipts are delivered electronically.
Various people at Boutell.Com have been doing various Internet things since the mid-1980's, including administrating a BBS in 1985, providing the first non-technical magazine on the World-Wide Web in late 1992, and maintaining the World-Wide Web List of Frequently-Asked Questions since 1993.
