Founded in 1975, Bradley-Angle House (B-A House) is the oldest domestic violence agency on the west coast. B-A House continues to provide a continuum of quality programming to battered women and their children from all racial, social, economic and educational backgrounds.
is a pattern of behavior committed by one partner against the other with the goal of exerting and maintaining power and control. It can manifest itself in physical, psychological, emotional, economic, sexual or social abuse.
Bradley-Angle House believes that everyone has the right to be safe from physical, sexual and emotional abuse and the threat of violence. In seeking to end violence, we are simultaneously committed to ending all oppressive behaviors. Rather than judging what is right or wrong, we help women and their children who are emotionally or physically abused to make informed choices about their lives. We educate the community about domestic violence-- its causes and its consequences, and we encourage the community to help prevent abuse by making changes in the conditions which make it happen.
