Description
Named for Dublin's oldest pub, this quaint but modern pine log structure in West Virginia's glorious Potomac Highlands houses 20 guest rooms, each furnished with antiques and collectibles — and in the upstairs south wing, with locally crafted classic bedroom suites in the Mission, English country, and Shaker traditions. All have private baths. Facilities have been expanded in 2008-2009 to better accommodate receptions, outdoor music performances, small conferences and workshops in and around two buildings adjacent to the inn.
Of the eight rooms on the ground floor, two rooms are wheelchair accessible.
The inn is locally famous for consistently good live music and home-cooked meals — the ingredients for which may well have come from this year's harvest of the innkeepers' garden. It's a great base camp for trekking, snow skiing, fishing and sightseeing in some of the most beautiful terrain on God's green earth. (Tent campers are welcome on the surrounding property for a small fee, too, and a hot shower can be arranged!)
