Breakers Unlimited was founded in Indianapolis by Ralph Wendel in 1986 with the desire to serve the needs of electrical wholesalers in the purchase of replacement circuit breakers. Based on excellent customer service and quality products, the response was very positive. In 1992, new facilities were needed as the product offerings grew to include multiple lines of residential and commercial circuit breakers along with definite purpose contactors. The company continued to grow and soon had a nationwide customer base.
The Company continued to grow and in 1999 acquired the Electrical Outlet in Arvada, Colorado (Denver metro) and Eagle Circuit Breaker in Lawrenceville, Georgia (greater Atlanta area). Up to that point, Breakers Unlimited had focused only on new product but these acquisitions allowed for an expansion into reconditioned industrial circuit breakers, air circuit breakers, bus plugs, fusible panel board switches, replacement contact kits and motor control. 2001 saw the opening of a facility in Bakersfield California in order to better serve the western states markets, and especially California. Finally, a distribution facility was opened in Houston in 2005 to provide an even better level of service in Texas and the southwest. Together, the five locations work in an integrated fashion, very efficiently delivering a wide variety replacement electrical distribution equipment.
2008 marked the event of an agreement to acquire the remaining new inventory of the Federal Pacific Electric Stab-lok® circuit breaker line. This resulted in Breakers Unlimited becoming the largest supplier of that product in the U.S.
With over twenty years of high quality customer service and strong performance, Breakers Unlimited is a market leader in providing circuit breakers, bus plugs, fusible panel board switches, replacement contact kits, fuses and motor control components to the wholesale and distributor market in the Unites States.
