Title

KY Foster & Adoptive Parent Training Support Network

Description

The KY Foster & Adoptive Parent Training Support Network is a partnership effort between parents and the Cabinet for Health and Family Services to address the unique local and regional training, recruitment, and retention needs of the Department for Community of Based Services (DCBS) foster / adoptive parents. To accomplish this, regional teams provide training in both group and one-on-one peer support settings.

The Network is here for you when you are a new parent and you have a lot of questions concerning your new placement, for the parent who has been around for a few years and is going through a difficult period of time with a child placement, for the parent who is undergoing an investigation, for the parent who is having a hard time coping with the children going home.

The Commonwealth of Kentucky will have sufficient trained and supported foster and adoptive homes to provide quality and stability for abused and neglected children to ensure their safety and permanency. Work hand-in-hand with community partners to recruit, retain, strengthen and support foster and adoptive families in becoming stable, secure and permanent homes for abused and neglected children.
