About Bridgewater State College

Bridgewater State College (BSC) was founded in 1840 by Horace Mann as one of America's first teacher preparation institutions. The campus is situated on 235 acres in the heart of the town of Bridgewater, Massachusetts.

While maintaining its historic focus on the preparation of teachers, Bridgewater today provides a broad range of baccalaureate degree programs through its School of Arts and Sciences, its nationally-recognized School of Education and Allied Studies, and its School of Business, which includes the only four-year aviation program at a public college in New England.

At the graduate level, the College offers master's degree programs and certificates of advanced graduate study, as well as a joint doctoral program in educational leadership in partnership with the University of Massachusetts- Lowell. BSC has been ranked among master's degree granting institutions in the North for graduating students with the least amount of debt, according to U.S. News & World Report's annual college rankings.
