Title

Brighton Buccaneers Baseball Club (UK)

Description

Founded in 1963, the club has grown into one of the most successful organisations in British baseball. It now boasts the best baseball facility in the country, a successful youth programme, and a senior team that has won three British championships in the past four years.

National League

The Buccaneers First Team competes in British Baseball’s, top competition, National League. This league, consisting of the six dominant teams in Britain, was founded in 2001 and uses wood, rather than aluminum, bats. Coached by Craig Savage, the Buccaneers won the 2001 and 2002 National Championships.

Although they lost the national final that year, the 2000 Bucs won their division in the regular season and competed in the European club championships. The Bucs shocked the French champion Savigny Lions to finish second in the tournament.
