About the photos on our site
So many of you have expressed an interest in our "lady on a mule" picture that we thought you'd like to know its origin. We received this picture in postcard form from a Swiss customer who was living in Saudi Arabia! The original photo is Swiss, and so we're sure these are the Swiss Alps, 19th century. We have permission to use this photo from the Swiss postcard company who own the rights.
Another old photo on our web site is my great grandmother, who knit constantly and precisely, mostly stockings and sweaters. I still have her darning egg, and some of her very thin steel lace needles. A fair legacy.
This picture is from the French Canadian movie 15 Fevrier 1839, a movie about the revolution of the patriots, the star character knits his own socks with Brittany needles. The movie was released February 2001.
