Broken Romeo is a melodic alternative rock band that was formed in Tucson, AZ. They have had many successes, including the recording and release of two well-received albums, Retribution and the self-titled Broken Romeo. Both albums were successful and received substantial airplay on Arizona radio stations 98 KUPD in Phoenix, and 96 KLPX in Tucson. The success of these albums lead to many opportunities, including opening for national recording acts such as Social Distortion, Screaming Trees, Babylon AD, Junkyard and the UK Subs, among others. Broken Romeo regularly headlined shows on the west coast and throughout the southwestern region. Record labels Epic, Capital, and Virgin Records also displayed an interest in the band, and have attended showcases performed in Hollywood CA. In 2002 Broken Romeo returned with a new line-up and renewed vision. Founding members James Turpin (vocals) and his brother Steve Turpin (guitars), have been joined by new members Loren Wessel (bass) and Bill Strickland (drums). Together they wrote and co-produced a full length CD Temptation. This album features a collection of songs that represent a wide variety of styles from the alternative rock genre, from the melodic acoustic oriented song, to heavy guitar driven hooks. Temptation has been featured on local radio stations with phenomenal response. Broken Romeo strives toward great success with their music, both locally and beyond, and continues to record new material and play live throughout the southwest.
