The role of the midwife as caregiver, in collaboration with obstetricians, pediatricians, and other health care providers, is to support and promote this normal process. Through careful screening, effects of deviations from normal are recognized and minimized. A commitment to the normal process is promoted in all aspects of care.
Women have the right to health care that is medically safe, fits their lifestyle, and recognizes and respects their individual and diverse physical, social, spiritual, psychological and economic needs.
We encourage active participation of the client with out midwifery health care team in all aspects of decision making relevant to their health care.
