Brooklyn Expedition
Description edit
The Brooklyn Expedition Web site is a collaborative project of the Brooklyn Children's Museum, the Brooklyn Museum of Art, and the Brooklyn Public Library.
This project brings together the resources of these three major Brooklyn institutions to increase educational services to the community by offering teachers, children, and families a new way to access three worlds of information in one place!
The site introduces users to four "themes." These are Latin America, Structures, and Brooklyn. Latin America focuses on the arts, cultures, and natural worlds of Mexico and South America - from pre-Columbian times to today. Structures explores the shared characteristics among animal skeletons and homes, architecture, art forms, and information cataloguing systems. Brooklyn celebrates the history and culture of this unique borough. Africa, scheduled to launch in the fall of 2002, uses art to introduce users to the diverse cultures of the continent.
