Description
Brooklyn Films was founded in 1988 by Michael Helman, an independent filmmaker and technology expert. Michael has held the role of producer and/or director on three feature films, two television series and dozens of music videos. Include his work as an editor and he's been responsible for thousands of hours of programming. A pioneer in the use of non-linear technology, Michael opened Post Digital in 1989. Post Digital, symbolizing the future of editing facilities, stood as one of the only houses dedicated solely to computer-based, digital editing. Branching out into new media technologies, Michael added CD/DVD authoring and web-streaming technology to his company's offerings. In 1998, as the demand for consulting services grew and a large client base formed, Michael decided to close Post Digital. Responsible for the design of a growing list of diversified companies' editing facilities, Michael currently is a product specialist and certified trainer for discreet, as well as, consultant to ABCNews, Bates Worldwide, Ellerbe Becket, and a multitude of software and production companies. After delving into new technologies, 2001-2002 found Michael back in production with multi-camera Hi-Def concert shoots. 2003 and 2005 will continue with a focus on production with the development of a television series and three film projects.
