About the Broward Folk Club
The Broward Folk Club is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to promote folk and acoustic music and to provide a community for people who share a love for it.
The BFC held its first songswap in March of 1988. Twenty-one people showed up for that first meeting. Today the BFC has an active membership is around 200.
Over the years, the BFC also produced the Raven Coffeehouse; a Benefit Concert for Broward House, a residence for AIDS victims; and a Benefit Concert for Women in Distress, a residence for battered women and their children. In prior years the South Florida Folk Festival made contributions to the Daily Bread Food Bank and the Adam Walsh Fund
