buckyogi is the online persona of the Reverend Brett Stauffer, D.D. The good reverend is a librarian at a busy public library. His interests include reading anything he can get his hands on, movies, music of all kinds (except new age, yecch!), chess, corrupting young girls, golf, ice hockey, computers (especially Web authoring), World War One, pickup trucks (he drives a 2001 Ford Ranger), and Bible studies. His exploits as a free-speech advocate are legendary.
Every autumn the good reverend returns to his home town of Twin Falls, Idaho for two weeks to attend the Twin Falls County Fair and Rodeo. This is invariably the high point of his year. During the Christmas holidays he spends a week with his father near Hemet, California.
Where did the name "buckyogi" come from? When the good reverend was a teenager (long before he became a reverend!) he broke his ankle playing softball. The crazy neighbor girl took a permanent marker and wrote "Fuck You" in great big letters on his cast. Well, he couldn't go to church like that, could he? So the girl's brother took that same marker and transformed "Fuck You" into "Buck Yogi." Ever since then that has been the good reverend's alter ego.
