Title
Buick Championship - PGA TOUR GOLF TOURNAMENT
Description
The PGA TOUR has enjoyed much success in Connecticut, dating back to 1952 when the inaugural Insurance City Open took place at Wethersfield Country Club.
Over the years the name and location of the tournament has changed. The event moved to the TPC at River Highlands in 1984, and outstanding players such as Sam Snead, Arnold Palmer, Billy Casper, Curtis Strange, Paul Azinger, Nick Price, Greg Norman, Phil Mickelson and Peter Jacobsen have all been crowned champion.
Another tradition that remains the same is the enthusiastic support the tournament receives from the community, making the PGA TOUR stop in Hartford a very special one.
