About the Federation

The National Federation of Builders (NFB) is the construction industry痴 longest established trade association which has grown in stature since its origins in the late 19th century. This has been achieved by providing top level advice to our members on legal, employment, taxation, health and safety, planning, environmental, technical, training and government funding issues. Our staff are close to the industry, have in-depth knowledge of today痴 business practises and how they are changing. They are fully conversant with industry issues and speak the same language as our members.

The NFB also provides a number of supplementary services e.g. monthly guidance notes to keep members abreast of changes. We also visit members to conduct seminars on key issues or provide staff training programmes. We work with other organisations who can add value to our members・businesses and by using the collective buying power of our members we negotiate favourable terms for the provision of services or equipment.

Finally, we vigorously represent the interests of our members and the industry generally by lobbying both UK and European Governments, regional assemblies and related non-governmental agencies. The NFB is a leading member of the Construction Confederation.
