- The Burning Cross website is a response to the "Borrowing Theory" in which European scholars and Christian missionaries in India have for centuries propagated the idea that the worship of Lord Krishna [Vaishnavism] was borrowed from Christianity. This theory was adamantly propagated starting in the later part of the18th century until the theory was finally undone when the weight of evidence against it became too strong. This evidence was the discovery of the ancient Greek manuscripts of Megasthenes and the archaeological finds of the Heliodorus pillar, Mora Well inscription and other such artifacts in India at the beginning of the 20th century, all of which fell in favor of the worship of Lord Krishna predating Christianity by at least several centuries.
