What is Buttoned Down Disco about?
Buttoned Down Disco was originally started as a one-off party in October 2002. Back then, we felt that most of the clubs in London were a little stagnant, so we decided to be proactive and start up our own night and play the music that we liked. We implemented a hugely successful 'invite-only' policy and decided to hold our parties in various secret London locations such as Asylum, Infinity, Catch, Eve Club, Tattershall Castle and the V & A Museum! Musically, we play tracks that we like at the time, rather than just the bands of the moment. If you were to talk genres I guess you could say Eclectic Pop, Indie, Punk, Electro, Funk & Disco. You might also hear some Dub, Reggae, Ska, Soul, Motown, Psychedelic Garage Rock, Bubblegum Pop, New Wave, One Hit Wonders, Breakdance, Bhangra, Bollywood, Quirky Cover Versions, Japanese Pop, Doo Wop, Hip Hop, Mash Ups and Soundtracks. Our parties are FREE, invite-only and we also operate a door policy to ensure a happy, safe atmosphere for everyone to enjoy the night. You have to be on our mailing list to gain entry and we then send out invites by email which contain directions and other details exclusive to each particular party. You then print the invite and bring it along with you on the night - simple. Join our mailing list to receive invites for all future parties!
