edit USMLE Step 3 Review & CCS Workshop

CCSWorkshop.com is an online interactive review of USMLE Step 3 and CCS. Designed to help medical students pass this crucial final part of the United States Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), CCSWorkshop.com focuses primarily on Clinical Case Simulations (CCS). CCS comprises approximately 25 percent of USMLE Step 3 exams, so a high score on CCS is vital.

Developed and taught by highly experienced teaching physicians, CCSWorkshop.com's USMLE Step 3 review and CCS workshop have a proven track record of success. Launched in 2008, CCSWorkshop.com has taught thousands of CCS and USMLE Step 3 students. More than 97 percent of their attendees have passed USMLE Step 3 exams.

Unlike most other USMLE Step 3 and CCS reviews, all of CCSWorkshop.com's live reviews and lectures are online to serve students across the globe.

edit CCS Workshop

If you're getting ready to take the USMLE Step 3, you must study and practice CCS prior to the exam. CCSWorkshop.com provides live interactive reviews of CCS. Each workshop is taught in a webinar event, allowing students to review CCS from the comfort of their own homes and to watch and practice CCS cases under supervision in a virtual classroom. Students save both time and money on their CCS review.

Each live CCS workshop is designed to strengthen students' approach to patient care. Students learns how to maximize the delivery of quality care in the 25 minute time allotted for each CCS simulation and how to follow through on critical CCS tasks.

The CCS workshop is set up as a combined lecture and hands-on learning environment. Every student gets to practice CCS and have his or her CCS methods analyzed by professionals.

A Typical CCS Session

  • CCS strategies
  • Recognizing unstable vitals
  • Live demonstration of CCS cases
  • Common CCS mistakes and how to prevent them
  • Tips for scoring high on CCS
  • Follow-ups of office and ER cases
  • Efficient use of time
  • Avoiding invasive tests

  • Basic set of orders for emergency cases
  • Adding / discontinuing orders that matter
  • Obtaining consults and their appropriateness
  • Differential diagnosis for common ER and office presentations
  • How to schedule follow-up tests
  • Live and interactive practice of several highyield USMLE Step 3 CCS cases
  • The first three to four hours of the CCS workshop includes a lecture on the USMLE Step 3 CCS strategies mentioned above. At the end of this lecture, several very important Step 3 CCS cases are practiced in an interactive format. As one of the students practices the CCS case under supervision, others get to watch the case practice on their own desktop and ask questions like in a live classroom. Students receive immediate feedback and guidance from the instructor. The instructor carefully monitors students' approach to a CCS case and corrects any inadequacies.

    edit USMLE Step 3 Review

The USMLE Step 3 review is done in a live webinar over several days. It provides USMLE Step 3 students with intensive, high-yield material and live interactive lectures that will help them easily pass and achieve a high score on the USMLE Step 3. During this live lectures, participants can let the instructor know that they have a question by using a "raise hand" icon on the webinar screen. The instructor will then unmute the participant so that he or she can directly ask questions. There are four options from which to choose:

    • USMLE Step 3 rapid review
    • USMLE Step 3 topic review
    • USMLE Step 3 full-length, one on one review
    • USMLE Step 3 review DVD

    USMLE Step 3 rapid review

The rapid review sessions are 26 hours long and spread over a three day period.

    • Day One - Preventive Medicine and Psychiatry
    • Day Two - Cardiology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Pulmonary / Ventilators / Critical Care, Infectious Diseases and Dermatology
    • Day Three - Nephrology / Acid Base, OBGYN, Rheumatology, Orthopedics / Sports Medicine, Hematology / Oncology, Pediatrics and Neurology

The participants will be provided with Archer high-yield USMLE Step 3 lecture notes in a powerpoint format.

    USMLE Step 3 topic reviews

Topic reviews are held online in groups of six. These are detailed lectures on a specific topic, with a particular focus on each attendee. Students purchase only the topics they want to review. There is an oral quiz at the end of each USMLE topic review session. All further questions are answered via email.

USMLE Step 3 personal tutoring / full-length review

The full-length USMLE review is on a one-on-one basis, spanning 40 to 45 hours. This course is designed both for those who failed USMLE Step 3 in the past and for those looking to achieve high scores.

Each USMLE personal tutoring session is tailored to a student's specific needs, baseline knowledge and schedule. Each full-length session covers all USMLE topics and concludes with rapid quizzing. Students receive unlimited guidance until they've taken the USMLE Step 3.

    USMLE Step 3 review DVD

For those who missed the above live webinars, CCSWorkshop.com also offers a DVD recording of a live webinar. The DVD includes everything you will see and hear during the webinar, including the full audio of the instructor, live capture of the instructor's desktop screen and a copy of the presentation slides in powerpoint format. The advantage of the DVD is that you can listen to it as many times as you want. However, the limitation is that you will not be able to ask questions like in a live, interactive session.

    edit Frequently Asked Questions

    What is a Webinar?

A webinar is a large group interactive and live online conference with a web interface where participants view PowerPoint slides. Presenters speak over the conference call and control the powerpoint slides. Participants may ask questions during the conference at designated intervals. Participants can also participate in various applications and work on the presenter's desktop if the presenter transfers the desktop controls to the participant.

    Why Webinar?

Webinar improves the convenience of scheduling and gives you access to the live lectures right from your home. Moreover, it reduces travel and time-lost costs. CCSWorkshop.com's webinars are especially useful for resident physicians with hectic work schedules who have very little time to access the live lectures.

    How are webinars organized?

Webinars are conducted via teleconference and through interactive online collaboration tools (no software costs or special equipment needed).

What are the technical requirements to access a webinar?

Participants will need a computer with internet connection and a microphone or a telephone. Audio is done through the webinar's conference call and the video ( powerpoint slides, CCS live case practice ) is a capture of the presenter's desktop screen.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND taking the Step 3 CCS Workshop and Step 3 Rapid-Review 3 day session. Dr. Red is an excellent lecturer and patient, accessible teacher. I unfortunately failed the first time around, and I fully believe that it's a matter of proper preparation. I was weak on the CCS part, so I attended the CCS workshop... and boy.. HUGE difference on my score!! My CCS score was much improved. And, This time, I am pleased to say that I PASSED with a score of 213 / 89. Thank you, Dr. Red!!! Good luck to All!

Dear Dr. Red, I passed my Step 3 with a 213/89 today!!! Your review classes (Rapid Review and the CCS) were the first time I've ever done anything like that for my USMLE preparation, and it really showed. (Though I passed on my first attempts, my Steps 1&2 scores were significantly lower). I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your wonderful teaching, and you have now helped give me the confidence, motivation, and encouragement to strive forward in this field of medicine! Thanks!

    Title

The title of a web page appears in search results as the link to that page. Learn more ...

    Purpose

The title of a web page appears as a clickable link in search results and bookmarks. A descriptive, compelling home page title with relevant keywords can increase the number of people visiting the site.

    Search Engines

Search engines view the text of the title tag as a strong indication of what the page is about. Accurate keywords in the title tag can help the page rank better in search results.

    Length

A title tag should have fewer than 70 characters, including spaces. Major search engines won't display more than that.

    Content

The title tag of your home page (and any other page on your site) should not contain the site’s domain name or URL. These will appear near the title in search results, so use your 70 characters to tell people what the page is about. The title tag should not contain any HTML, because it will be displayed incorrectly or not at all.

    • Good: This web page has a title tag.
    • Good: The title tag is a good length.

    Meta Description

Search engines often use the meta description of a web page to describe it in search results. Learn more ...

    Purpose

The meta description tells searchers what a web page is about. It is often displayed below the title in search results, and helps people decide if they want to visit that website.

    Length

Search engines will read 200 to 250 characters, but usually display only 150, including spaces. The first 150 characters of the meta description should contain the most important keywords for that web page. Using fewer than 50 characters could mean you’re not saying enough about the page.

    Content

The meta description should be engaging, and should include keywords that accurately reflect what visitors will find on the web page. The keywords should be the same ones that a site's potential customers are using to search. Include a site’s location if it is important.

    • Warning: The meta description is longer than 150 characters. Search engines will probably display only the first 150 characters, including spaces.

    H1 Headings

The H1 heading is an important sentence or phrase on a web page that quickly and clearly tells people and search engines what they can expect to find there. Learn more ...

    Just one H1

In most cases, a web page should have just one H1 heading. Using multiple H1 headings is okay if that is a logical way to organize the page, but they should be used sparingly. That’s because search engines can view multiple H1 headings as an attempt to signal that all the content on a page is equally important, a tactic that’s seen as an attempt to game the search engine algorithms.

    Purpose

Search engines look for an H1 heading to determine what a page is about. Human visitors do, too.

    Content and placement

The H1 heading appears on the web page itself, unlike the page title, which people will see mostly in search results.

The H1 tag (which contains the H1 heading) is usually listed first among the other heading tags for a page. None of the major search engines, however, will penalize a site for listing H2 through H6 tags ahead of the H1 tag.

The H1 heading for a page should be different from its title. Each can target different important keywords for better SEO.

    • Problem: This web page does not have an H1 heading. It should have one.

    Robots

Your website's robots.txt file can tell search engines to ignore parts of your site. Learn more ...

    Purpose

Website owners usually use robots.txt to let search engines know which pages or sections of their site shouldn't be indexed — for example, web contact forms, print versions of web pages and other content that's duplicated elsewhere on the site. Robots.txt can also be used to request that specific robots not index a site. For more information, read How To Use Robots.txt.

    Be careful!

If you're going to use robots.txt, be careful not to accidentally exclude search engines from pages you want people to find. To learn more, read Don't Block Search Engine Crawlers.

    Search engine robots

You'll need to know the names of specific search engine robots - or "bots" – if you’re going to exclude any or all of them from any part of your site.

    • Google’s bot is called Googlebot. Google is the world’s largest search engine, and is where many people discover new websites.
    • Bing’s bot is called msnbot. Bing also provides search results to people using Yahoo to search the Web. Together, Bing and Yahoo are the second largest search resource, after Google.
    • Baidu’s bot is called Baiduspider. Baidu is a major search engine in China, and the number of people using it is increasing rapidly.
    • AboutUs.org’s bot is called AboutUsBot. To create a Site Report, AboutUs uses crawling technology that’s similar to what search engines use.
    • Good: This website’s robots.txt file is not blocking major search engines from crawling its pages. Your website can appear in any engine’s search results.

    Canonical Url

This website can live at www.CCSWorkshop.com or CCSWorkshop.com. It's best for your site's visibility to live at just one URL, or web address. You'll want to create a 301 redirect to the URL you choose from the other URL. Learn more ...

    Choose one or the other

Whichever of these URLs you choose, make sure your website lives ONLY at that location, which is called the canonical URL for your site.

    Be careful!

If you choose www.MyWebsite.com for your site, make sure people who don't type www can get to your site, too. Create a permanent 301 redirect from MyWebsite.com to www.MyWebsite.com.

If the same web page exists at two different URLs, people can choose to link to one or the other. Links from other sites to your website are valuable — they tell search engines that your site is important to people. By splitting valuable links between two identical pages, you're diluting the power of those links to help a page rank higher in search results.

    • Good: Your website resides at www.CCSWorkshop.com, and CCSWorkshop.com is permanently redirected to it.
