What are pdf files and why to use them?
The PDF file format was developed by Adobe to create a portable document format. This format can be used to exchange and distribute documents. The advantage against other formats is that you can be sure that anyone will view the file exactly as you want also on other computer systems. The free Adobe Reader is available for almost all computer sytems. Problems that are causted by fonts that are not installed on the viewing sytem are unknown when using the PDF file format. The PDF files contain all information to display the file the same way on all systems. Also PDF files are very small, the content can be stored compressed. So it is the best solution if you want to upload and distribute a document to the internet.
