- The history of Calhoun Transportation Services is a humble one; in 1978 an opportunity to start a drayage company at Bowater Southern Paper Corporation presented itself for Wallace Gordon, a truck driver living in Hendersonville, NC. In the summer of 1978, his son David and daughter Christine moved to Calhoun, TN, and started Calhoun Transportation Service, Inc.
