Www.californiawineandfood.com was originally created to educate and entertain trade buyers who live outside the United States. While interest in California’s cuisine is substantial, information on the topic had been fragmentary, at best.
We believe that since beginning our publication a year ago, we’ve provided a unique look at the region’s foods and wine, showing how they’re used in California and how they may be adapted to other cuisines and other styles of cooking. In these last 12 months we’ve received some 18 awards for web site design and have heard very flattering comments from other editors and publishers.
We’ve learned some interesting things along the way. While it has been gratifying to hear from international visitors to our site, they’ve not made up the majority of our audience. Without particularly seeking it, we’ve developed a substantial following of those in the food trade in the United States. Chefs, food and beverage directors, produce buyers and many others in our own country have been visiting our site (we’d call them readers or subscribers in the old days).
