ABOUT CAMERON BARRETT
CamWorld is a web site run by Cameron Barrett, or Cam for short. It is not about webcams, does not have a webcam, and probably never will.
CamWorld began on June 11, 1997 - a few days before I was to begin teaching a college class on HTML and new media design. I initially used the site to post links to web design articles I wanted my students to read for class. After my class ended, I kept updating the site because I realized my audience had grown much beyond my initial students.
In January of 1999 I wrote an essay called Anatomy of a Weblog, defining the concept and pioneering a new form of the personal Web site - the weblog or blog. In June, 2003 I launched WatchBlog, a collaborative blog about the 2004 U.S. election, and I'm working on several more blog-related sites that will launch before the end of the year.
