About CamBridge-News.co.uk

Official publisher of Cambridge News with news, sport, breaking stories, video and audio. Serving Cambridgeshire, Suffolk, North Hertfordshire and Essex. History

The Cambridge News was founded in 1888 under the name of the Cambridge Daily News by William Farrow Taylor. The paper faced many obstacles in its early years, with the economic climate in the 1920s and 30s and printing shortages during the Second World War.

Ownership of the paper has passed through several hands; the Taylors sold it to the Iliffe family in the 1920s, who then sold it in 1938 but bought it back in 1959. They moved it to a larger headquarters in Newmarket Road and re-named the publication as the Cambridge Evening News in 1969. In 1998, the headquarters moved to Milton and remain there today.

A sunrise edition of the paper, titled simply the Cambridge News was introduced in 2007. In 2008, the evening edition was stopped. Today, there is only a morning edition of the paper available, still under the title of the Cambridge News.
