Cactus Rock is a company founded by Jaime Horwitz MBA, a Mexican entrepreneur who immigrated to Canada in 1989. The company's focus has been to promote Canada to Spanish speakers around the world mainly over the Internet. In 2004, realizing that millions of Canadians like Mexico, but never heard of Campeche, Jaime decided to make a proposal to his Mother's home state to promote it to Canadians as a tourist and retirement destination.
The idea for Campeche.ca was born on a visit to Campeche City. In 2000, I decided to visit old relatives and friends with my little daughter during Carnival, something I hadn't done in over twenty years. My Mother, who now lives in the Vancouver area, was also visiting at the time, which made the trip even better, considering my daughter was only 7 years old and my wife was not going with us.
