US National Cancer Institute (NCI)
Research reported on the ICRP includes research awards funded by the National Cancer Institute (NCI), a component of the National Institutes of Health, an agency within the United States Department of Health and Human Services. NCI awards on the ICRP include projects (research and training grants, clinical trials, contracts and intramural studies) that were funded and ongoing as of October 1, 2001 through September 30, 2004 (FY 2002 and FY 2004). In addition, projects funded in FY 2005 (October 1, 2004 through September 30, 2005) that have been coded to the CSO and Disease Site are also included, as are Clinical Trials that are open to new patient registration.
US Congressionally-Directed Medical Research Programs (DOD, CDMRP)
CDMRP/DOD-CDMRP funds research in the areas of Breast, Prostate, and Ovarian Cancers. Information provided on the ICRP includes awards that were active during FY 2000 or later. American Cancer Society (ACS)
The American Cancer Society is a voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem through its community-based efforts within the United States, and by helping to develop cancer societies and strategic collaborations throughout the world.
