- Our main purpose is to advocate and promote mountain biking in the New York State Capital Region and beyond. The network riders is a loosely affiliated "grass-roots" group, both men and women, but all MTBr's. While some of us are members of actual biking clubs in the area, membership in one of these clubs is not required to be included in Capital MTB Rides list. It is strongly recommended that if you are going to lead and/or organize a ride using our list, you be a member of MHCC or SMBA or both. MHCC offers liability coverage for ride leaders on official Club rides. SMBA allows you to legally ride their trail system in Saratoga with other SMBA members.
