Recorded history of several branches of the family goes back more than 300 years, and both the Carsons and the Johnsons can be traced all the way back to Adam, if the material in Appendices I, XI, and XII is to be believed. The Carson line comes through the O’Briens and the Irish Monarch Brian Boru, while the Johnson line comes down through the Springers and Charlemagne.
